Steve Kotyk has more than 25 years of experience in health information technology in leadership positions in sales, support, and software implementation. He is fluent in a wide array of hospital information systems with significant experience in patient identity management across multiple domains of master patient indexes using advanced probabilistic matching algorithms.


Steve’s expertise encompasses the successful implementation of Enterprise Master Patient Index (EMPI) systems and solutions to identify and resolve patient identity and data integrity issues. He shares his specialized knowledge of EMPI systems and health information exchange as a member of several AHIMA and HIMSS committees. Steve introduced, testified, and supported the passage of Texas HB-1060 in conjunction with Representative Tan Parker and Senator Chris Harris to allow hospitals to electronically read Texas driver’s licenses during registration.


Steve has more than two decades of experience in health information technology, including Director of Patient Access Application Implementations, Director of Enterprise Support Group, Director of Marketing & Sales Support and Project Management. His professional memberships include the Texas Health Services Authority, AHIMA, and HIMSS.


Steve graduated from Texas A&M University with a B.S in Computing Science.
