Abdul Bengali currently serves as a Consultant at University of Mississippi Medical Center.
Prior to that he served as Interim CIO at MaineHealth. He retired as CIO of Via Christi Health in October 2014 where he provided strategic and operational leadership for Information Technology. Prior to Via Christi Health he served as CIO at the Mayo Clinic. He joined the Mayo Clinic in 1977 as a lead systems programmer and progressed to division chair, department vice chair, department chair, and then CIO.
He has significant experience in partnering with clinicians to design and implement IT solutions to support a patient-centered, integrated practice of medicine.
